This to me is how I remember Chinese New Year Eve in my childhood; after the big dinner, at Grandpa's house, he always had a tea set steaming with fragrant hot tea, a tray full of oranges and candies for guests and children, grown-ups chatted away as children play by the side, all waiting for the sound of first fire-cracker at midnight..... These are the colors and textures I associated with my Chinese New Year.
